Are You Ready to Help Accelerate Access with SRT?
May 2023 to October 2023
OPEN FOR SUBMISSIONS
The Accelerate Access programme is an Inclusive Arts professional development platform with the ambition to develop expertise amongst teaching artists, and build arts exposure for D/deaf, Autistic and Disabled young people in Singapore.
The programme seeks to fulfil two important aims within the domain of Inclusive Arts Practise in Singapore.
Firstly, we want to build expertise, supporting and nurturing the development of exceptional ‘Inclusive Teaching Artists’ within the performing arts sector.
Secondly, we want to increase performing art exposure for young learners aged 13 to 18 years, so they can discover and explore their creative capacities and talents and explore the potential of a career in the arts!
TEACHING ARTIST CALL OUT!
We are seeking 10, exciting Teaching Artists to join SRT on this unique development journey. During May 2023, we will offer 5 days of intensive training in Singapore, covering disability awareness, inclusive arts pedagogy and disability performing arts training. Local and international experts will lead the training in the field of arts and disability. The 10 teaching artists will embark on a 32-week, fully paid practicum training programme with a Special Education Needs (SPED) School after the training.
This intentional practicum approach will link a team of Teaching Artists with a SPED Educator, collaborating with a class of D/deaf, Autistic and Disabled learners, to create new standards for inclusive arts engagement in a disability setting.
WHO SHOULD APPLY?
We want to hear from artists in the performing arts sector — Drama, Theatre, Dance, Puppetry, Music and more.
You should have at least 5 years of teaching experience in your art form in any setting. Experience working within Disability, Access or Inclusive Arts settings is desirable, but not essential.
